These are some pics taken at a recent show of my most recent build, the Tam BT44b. I'll post some better pics after next Friday, as I'll have some professional pics taken of my work, so keep an eye out for that!
I absolutely *love* this car's shape and colors. One of the prettiest of all F1 cars, IMHO. I really tried to go all out in detailing it. Lots of stuff changed, including RB motion rod ends (hyme joints) throughout, DFV valve cover detail set, velocity stack and fuel rails and shocks. Most suspension members were replaced with aluminum tubing of appropriate size, as it was easier to work with the rod ends that way, plus it looked better. The DFV plumbing was done as accurately as possible with the help of the DFV booklet that was published by one of the members here (HIGHLY recommended!) and it is very easy to follow. Lots of lines added to the brakes, brake cylinders, dash, electronics, fire extinguisher, etc. You get the picture! Color is Tamiya with 1k clear. Decals are the fantastic ones by Indycals.
Anyway, here you go!
Any and all comments or constructive criticism welcomed.

We can probably disagree on 'One of the prettiest of all F1 cars' but that takes nothing away from this fantastic looking build. Can't wait to see the new pics.

Superb job Daniel! Excellent work from excellent reference. And I mostly agree-nearly my fave shape for F1. Brutal looking with those 17" slicks in the day.
I built mine back in the 80's when I was a mere lad (AHEM) and this kit and it's details are lightyears ahead.
Just beautiful.

Looks great. Will you be bringing this build to Atlanta? If so, I look forward to seeing it there.

Hey Daniel,
I`m not really into F1 cars but this is a great build. Very nice detailling and great realism. It almost gets me in the mood to make a F1 car myself.

Thanks, Robi. I know they don't. That's why I'm going to get some professional pics taken of my work to get them as good as they can be. I've felt that same thing. However, these pics are just what was taken by the club photog at a show I recently went to.
Thanks, Doc! I always appreciate your comments!
To whoever asked about the body panels--yes, they do fit. I choose not to display it with the panels on during a show. Some might, especially if they're not good at detailing. I choose to display my work.

You know darn well who asked about it....and some chose to display their builds like this because panels don't fit, and all four wheel don't touch the ground at the same time....not saying yours is like that, but we never see any pics or your stuff buttoned up...kinda strange as everybody that posts here usually shows both views. Would love to see it that way, and any show I've ever been to, the judges ask to see it both ways...so be prepared.

LMAO, not at all, just don't want you to be disappointed when all that detail you work so hard to put in doesn't get you any hardware because one of your wheels doesn't touch the gound.
And please, don't write that you go to shows for the comraderie and see friends, as you have threads on this very site asking questions about why judging didn't go your way.

You are so kind for thinking of me. :jerking: Please stop thinking of me and posting in my threads. It's getting obsessive again.
If you can read (which I doubt), that thread was about judging procedures. Simple as that, not why it "didn't go my way".
You have never seen my work in person, so you have no clue if one of my car's wheels doesn't touch. As a matter of fact, they do. Plus, I've NEVER (and some of the top guys in the hobby) have never heard of any judge asking to have cowling put on. If they for some odd reason do, I have nothing to "fear" as you say.
Anyway STOP THE THREAD HIJACKING and stop posting here.

LOL you say Tomato... BTW, I was talking about this thread inparticular...where you ask for some criticism, and then argue with people who try to help you out... :naughty:

Who are these "top guys" you mention? I have been asked more times than I can count to button up my builds while they are being judged to the point where I display them initially with all panels on, then take them off just before the judging starts. That usually satisfies them.
Every build I've seen of yours has the car up on stands, and that raises a red flag for any judge that has a clue...any IPMS event you go to stresses the basics...so you can have all the detail in the world and it won't do you any good if your wheels and wings aren't straight.

Nicely detailed Daniel - would like to see some WIP pictures - Daniel, some people should keep their personal comments private in a PM and not use the forum for ego bashing - so don't worry about what one person is saying - John

Thanks, John. Unfortunately no WIP pics--I tend to get on a roll and just keep on truckin'! Can't slow down for pics! :runaround: If there's a question about something specific, I'll be more than happy to explain what I did or help in any way I can.
