did ou buy the car new ? if not, the previous owner might have replaced the radio. If not, the dealer often puts the radio code sticker in the glovebox - it will be stuck on the inside near the console.

no i did not buy it new and the owner did not have it.

there is also sometimes a copy of it in with the owners manual stuff. Like I said, look around the glave compartment area. It will be a white sticker, maybe 2.5-3" long and 1-1.5" tall. It will have 5 numbers on it, all 1-6. If it is NOT in the car somewhere you are probably pretty much screwed, especially if the dealer can't help you.

P.S. dealers normally charge $35-50 for the reset code.
