Abs amber light on/off

I had a problem where the ABS amber light would come on and off. at times the ABS would activate the abs brake system at low speeds.

what I found was the driverside wheel hub bearing seal had completely rusted to dust. the bearing exterior looked very clean and not rusted. this is because when new I rust treated these areas .

removal of the speed sensor revealed the rusted colored grease ..this grease should be blue..I ramed into the sensor hole a few onces of grease then on the back side all the old rusted grease blew out since the seal was melted away.put it back together and for a week the ABS issues where gone FOR NOW!..

LOOKED up 1AAUTO for a new hub. got the 1ashf00005 hub part number cost 65.oo with 2 year warrantee.

Installed today and with voltage and mechanical testing and fitting it was perfect.

the passengerside hub was replaced last year. this too had the hub seal rust away causing the same problem...

The rust belt is very distructive on these vehicles ..especially when GM designs these parts to fail.

this vehice has too many brake failure issues that all goes back to defective materials used in the rust belt !
