Need help, bought a 2002 3.8 v6 used engine... it is a no egr engine.
i called Crysler and 2 dealer serv. stations to find out if my old engine that blew was a EGR... after giving them all info they asked... they came to teh conclusion that it WASNT'. well after my friend and i took the engine out to replace with used engine i bought.... found out it had the EGR!!!
my question, am i screwed? :crying: or will this no EGR engine work? or can we somehow, 'MAKE IT' work ???
pls advise asap.... thx for you help....

Should not be that big of a deal to make it work, there should be a plate over where the egr goes on the block, and if there is no plate on the top of the intake, just take the plenum from the old engine and put it on the new one, and swap the egr from the old engine to the new one.

It may have a non-functional EGR, compare your VIN to the VIN breaks in this bulletin. This is not the complete bulletin but may help. The bulletin number is: 18-026-01
A change to eliminate the EGR system is being made during the 2002 model year. The change will be made in steps. First, the EGR will be turned off in the calibration (PCM software), followed by the removal of the EGR valve. This left a period of time during which vehicles were built with a non-functioning EGR valve on the engine. The following information will help to identify and service a functioning versus non-functioning EGR valve:
---Vehicles with functioning EGR valves---
Vehicles built before September 18, 2001 (MDH 0918XX) at the Windsor Assembly Plant ("R" in the 11th position of the VIN) and September 14 (MDH 0914XX) at the St. Louis Assembly Plant ("B" in the 11th position of the VIN) will have functioning EGR valves. .
---Vehicles built with non-functioning EGR valves.---
Vehicles built after the dates mentioned above through approximately the end of October, 2001 will have a non-functioning EGR valve on the engine and may or may not have an EGR vacuum harness. Vehicles built after approximately the end of October, 2001 will not have an EGR valve on the engine. In either case, the vehicle VECI label will identify the EGR valve "non-functional" and have a dotted line to the EGR valve.
---For non-functional EGR equipped vehicles electronic diagnostics will not function, however, the electrical connection must be maintained if the vehicle has an EGR vacuum harness (the EGR solenoid must be energized to shut off vacuum flow to the EGR valve). If the vehicle does not have an EGR vacuum harness the electrical connector may or may not be disconnected and taped back to the harness.

I have an 02 with a 3.3, will have to check and see if it falls in that range, I know it has an egr valve (one of the few that I have seen that did have it).
