Question: Painting Aluminum tubs

In the past, I have used Modelmaster aluminum plate for 1970's F1 tubs. This paint does not really convey the patina of sheet alloy, or sheet alloy which has slightly oxidized or has collected oil and grease as they would in the day.
My LHS recommended that I mixe Alclad2's to get the look. Has anyone come up with a mix? What undercoat do you use?

I have also struggled with a good finish. Allclad itself is not that durable. Lately I have been spraying a basecoat of TS-17 Gloss Aluminum, then a couple coats of Alclad Chrome over top. It looks good and is pretty durable.

good tip, i will have to try that for myself, everyone seems to agree that alclad looks the best, but if handled it does tend to wear badly.
