Hey everyone!

I decided to create an ongoing thread for my current lsvtec build.
I'll try and remember to keep everything updated. I think it's a great way to track my progress and keep my pictures in-line!

So Let's begin shall we...

Here's the Donor, a 1990 Acura Integra LS with 194,000k.

After about 2 weeks and 4 trips to the junkyard I finally got it home.
This was a stubborn one, and pulling it from a junkyard made things even more inconvenient.

The driver side axle was seized into the intermediate shaft, so I had to remove the half shaft with the motor still in the car. Well a few of those bolts aren't the easiest to get too, wrench slipped off, smack... 3 Stitches later.

Fast forward a few weeks and I went back for revenge. This time I dominated her!

Transmission removed and mounted on the engine stand, ready for disassembly

Non-Vtec head? Get that shit outta here...

Time to flip her. Lets open up the bottom and see how it looks!

That sums up the block, its down to the bare bones and ready for the machine shop. Time to get it hot-tanked, honed and decked.

I talked to the machine shop today, it's going in this week for a slight facelift! Hopefully they dont have it to long, I'm anxious to get building!

Things I need to buy:
- Micrometer Kit
- Dial bore gauge
- Plastic gauge
I might as well blueprint this engine while I'm at it :naughty:

I put my order in with 1sthondaparts.com for the following:
- Oil pan gasket
- Water pump (ITR)
- Oil Pump (ITR)
- Thermostat
and pretty much every other misc. gasket, screw, o-ring that the bottom end needs.

Lady - No pain no game... Or no injury's means your just not trying hard enough :runaround:

Ya you've had your fair share of injuries, my cut finger doesn't compare. It actually fully healed in about 15 days. Polysporn and stitches do wonders!

Dropped off the block today, they are going to call once they get it measured up. They suggested I do a bore since there really isn't much of a taper on those blocks?
Do you think a 81.25mm bore is good? I'm thinking about using the SPR 11.7:1 pistons, with a decked head that should bring me pretty close to 12:1cr.
I really dont want to go over 12:1 even 11.7 kind of scares me.

Thoughts??

So the mailman decided to stop by the other day!

He came bearing gifts from Honda!
http://www.decepticonracing.com/90civicrider/lsvtec/honda-order1.jpg

- TypeR Water Pump
- TypeR Oil Pump
- Thermostat
- Water Pipe Gaskets
- Oil Pan Gasket
- Plug to replace the block heater

is it done yet? :D

No it's not done yet :sorry:,
but I did receive some new tools in the mail!

- Outside Micrometers
- Feeler Gauges
- 10-150 ft/lbs Torque Wrench
- Dial Bore Gauge

Now if only the machine shop would finish with my block!

I've been doing a lot of reading on this lately and have fallen in love with the idea. Just curious if anyone has thought about this or even attempted it?

I know what needs to be done but have only seen very few 4g's with it done.
Are any of you out there?

LS/Vtec builds? they are everywhere. There is a thread that covers it very well somewhere around here...might/probably is still a sticky, im too lazy to check.

I just finished a buddies of mine LS high comp build. Ran all LS except the pistons which were ITR. Rough estimate on compression is 11.7:1. It's very nice, pulls hard. He's running the stock LS head, so no vtec, but he's probably just going to cam it and tune it really well. I'm looking at doing the same thing with my LS in my sedan.

Well I have the LS head in my garage taking up room, you can have it or trade for a Y8 head? lol (Friend wants a mini-me swap). Shipping that sucker is expensive I'm sure?

There is, it's BamBam's write up and still a sticky.
I've read it like 10 times at leased. To bad he isn't still around to bounce idea's off

Nice, I just got myself a big 3 bay shop as well. Probably won't get a lift, but it's sure nice to have a place to pull a few cars in to work on. Keep us updated on the build. Can't wait to start on mine soon.

Nice man! I'm in the south as well by south center. I wish I could get a hoist. That would making things a lot easier!
