Shelby Cobra MK
Revell
1:24
Made by Matic Kapš
I decided to build street version of Cobra, therefore I scratched chrom bumpers, new exhausts, springs, shocks, steering mechanism, fixed the structure of chassis (it was too short). I also improved interior (seats, door panels, flocking, new carpets), added few parts to the engine and made wireing. New side vents were made, windshield frame was thinned and it's angle was lowered. Side glasses were replaced with new, much thinner. I also scratched new wipers and added air vents to two tone wheels.

Nicer looking than some of the 1:1 street Cobras I've seen.

Excellent Cobra!
i follow the wip and oyu did a great job!
Just something i would add is some black color in the interior of the exhaust because it looks very clean

Excellent work. Metallic black is a difficult color to get to look good, and you've done a wonderful job. I really enjoyed watching your WIP of this build!

The stance is perfect, the wing windows look fabulous, the paint is like a mirror, and the whitelines on the tires are super clean! The only minor thing that catches my attention is the headlight bezels which seem too thick from the kit? In the reference photos they seem slimmer. Maybe it's just the angle, anyway... great work!

After the model was already "finished" I found out some imperfections (with your help - thanks!) and decided to improve them.
I put a drop of black in the exhaust pipes. Before/after:

Then it was time to build new roll-bar. Revell's wasn't properly shaped at all. Every first picture shows Revell's part, every second shows mine, scrathed one.

Intermezzo:

Painted using Alclad II chrome. It looks much darker in pictures, but there's actually only minor difference when you look at it in real.

To make interior more interesting and a bit more colourfull, I made two rock'n'roll CD's and a Classic car magazine.

Nice details!
The darker exhaust looks very real, and the roll bar its a lot better than the revell one.
One question about the magazines...do you print them by yourself? what size are those magazines?
Thanks and great work!

Thanks!:)
...One question about the magazines...do you print them by yourself? what size are those magazines?
Yes, I am printing them by myself, using regular paper and ordinary low-budget HP deskjet printer. Actually nothing special at all. First I measured real magazine (scale 1:1) and made a photo of it. Then I converted all measurments into 1:24 scale and printed photo in that size, using IrfanView software program, which allows you to set the final size of printed area. Later all redundant paper was cut off. I glued some more pages into it, to make it fuller.
Size of 1:24 magazine is 12.5 x 9.6mm.
