I have a 1987 Ford Escort GL. It has the 1.9l CFI engine in it. I found a manual transmission for a 1991 Ford Escort with a 1.9L EFI engine in it. Can I use this transmission with my 87 Escort?

I don't know. Try this Google (http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=site:feoa.net+manual+transmission+type&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8) for starters. Also, one about gear ratios (http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=site:feoa.net+manual+transmission+type&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#sclient=psy&hl=en&safe=off&client=opera&rls=en&source=hp&q=site:feoa.net+manual+transmission+gear+ratios&pbx=1&oq=site:feoa.net+manual+transmission+gear+ratios&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=14892l16868l0l17266l13l11l0l0l0l1l212l1492l 3.7.1l11l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=8462944b4df9f031&biw=1166&bih=533) may help as well. Try adding '1st gen' to the search phrase as well.
