by Bosco
The V8 StockCar Road Racer's will contest for series points at two different locations on the same Labor Day weekend. The V8 race North will be at the beautiful Barber Motorsports Park, just outside of Birmingham, Alabama, while the V8 Race South will be at historic Sebring International Raceway.
Barber packs seventeen challenging turns into the 2.38 mile road circuit with some eighty feet of elevation change. Both the Indy Car Series and the Grand Am Rolex Series schedule annual races at Barber. The Barber race is hosted by the Alabama and Atlanta Regions of the SCCA, while the Sebring event is hosted by the Central Florida Region SCCA. At Barber, look for Bobby and Roger Reuse in their brand new V8 GTA Camaro's to battle with Hayes Flynn, Robby Boyett, and 2011 V8 GTA points leader Randy Walker.

At Sebring, Charles Wicht will debut his new Rocketsports V8 GT-1 C6 Corvette. Charles' new ride is one the ex Doug Harrington Trans Am Corvette's that Charles recently purchased and re-powered with an 800 plus HP Dorton SB2 mill. Wicht will battle with Bob Borders in his similar Corvette and Ray Webb in his fast ex Ryan Newman Nascar Cup Car and Keith Goldin in an Grand Am Rolex GT spec Mazda RX8. V8 GT2 points leader Bill McGavic heads a good size V8 GT2 contigent with Richard Smith in his fast Rx7 looking to provide some stiff competition for Mcgavic. In V8 GTA, Tommy "Holywood" Graham, Tony Amico, Bill Minnear and newcomer Chad Jorgensen will wage war. Lee Arnold will return with his late model V8 SPO entry after running Daytona with his V8 GTA car.

Following the Labor Day weekend shootout, The V8 Series will move to Homestead-Miami Speedway for an event with the Florida Region SCCA on September 17 & 18, followed by the SARRC Invitational Challenge with the Buccaneer Region SCCA and then the 2011 season culminates with the American Road Race of Champions at Road Atlanta hosted by the Atlanta Region SCCA.
