Fujimi Honda CRZ

Here's another one built for review.
Fun kit; I like the lines of the CRZ because it reminds me of one of my favorite cars of all time, the CRX. Pity that the CRZ is an overweight, overpriced hybrid with nowhere near the carefree and amazing performance of the CRX.
It's just a model...went together well enough, though the glass is a royal PITA to install, because it has a large overlap on the sides. I had to cut away one rear quarter window to get the unit in place, which then snapped in place w/o glue.
New-fangled interior tub, limited side panel detail, lower seat cushions part of the floor on the tub
5-stage paintjob (applied in about an hour and a half), decanted Testors Go Mango base, thin coat of Tamiya Mica Red, thin coat of clear w/yellow pearl, transparent Tamiya red and orange, followed by clear.

That is an amazing color. Was this straight from can or acrylic?

All colors decanted and airbrushed in thin coats. All hobby lacquers.

I haven't finished a model in 2 months. I post them here when they get published; the CRZ was done in May, the Mustang GT in June, and the silver Ferrari was actually finished back in January (I thought it was spring).
All the review models are mine to keep. Yes, I have quite a few now...I sold a few of them last November at our show. I'm glad I can build models fairly quickly, but I haven't been very productive in a couple months, and I am trying to get a pair of models done by our next club meeting in 2 weeks; one a review model (NSX-R), the other a Fujimi GT3R. And it looks like I'm getting the SL65 Black Series kit to review...

I haven't worked on a model in 2 years. You are doing ok Bob :-)
Love the model, like the real car too, I like Honda design in general on their latest line-up.
Great stuff. That paintjob is top notch!

Flawless work as always! I'm not a fan of this car but I'm definitely a fan of your works. What amazed me the most is your control of painting. Seems you know what effect you're after and you get the exact result by the process of painting! Normally I can't be sure of how it will turn out after so many different layers.

Fantastic color! Very good paint job and overall finish.
I agree - it is a shame that "new crx" is far from the old one has been...
