Revell 2010 Mustang GT

Here's Revell's latest Mustang GT kit, it's a 2010 that came out early this summer, another review kit.
Overall a nice model. Still saddled with oversized tire sidewalls and a Subaru Outback-inspired ride height. Like everyone else, I'd have far preferred the Coyote-engined 5.0 version from 2011 or 2012, perhaps a Boss 302...but maybe Revell plans that for the future. Anyway, if you like modern Mustangs this kit is very decent, and they did a better job on it than the 2005-2009 variants.
After the review photos were accepted, I removed the stock wheels and tires and added a set of Fujimi Brembo brakes behind a set of Welly Jaguar XK Coupe wheels & tires that a friend gave me (he hated the brakes...I found the brakes slipped right off the wheels ).
I know they've got a Shelby GT500 version of this kit coming later this year. I really would love to build a Boss 302 Laguna Seca. Maisto has both GT and Boss 302's (not Laguna Seca) coming in 1/24, so that will give at least some wheel options if Revell doesn't come through.
The Mustang Outback?

This is much better:

I need to do a few more paint details to the chassis. I used gray primer, but the real car uses a weird yellow/gold/copper kind of primer.

Underhood detail is good, but a bit sparse w/o some wires and hoses.

I agree, engine seems a bit sad without details...
Nice models, especially with new wheels.
What do you refer to exactly when saying Revell improved the kit compared to first Mustang release ?
I have the first release, 2005 version if not wrong, but don't really see so much difference from your pics...

Thanks; this is an all-new tool. Revell molded the bumpers integrally w/the previous generation, and the headlight openings/shapes left a bit to be desired. It also caused them to have to spend a lot more $$ to do the differing varieties (Bullitt, GT-H, GT-500, GT-500KR). They ended up tooling up at least two new bodies after the original 2005 GT. The new kit is all-new, separate bumpers will make it much easier for them to do Shelby versions as well, requiring only new bumpers and hoods, not entirely new bodies. The tires are improved, but still oversized/oversquare. A lot of people assume this new kit is based off the '05-'09 tooling, but it definitely is not. Just a lot of subtle changes all over the car, just like the real ones.

the original wheels make it look like a off road car, but your modification makes look fantastic! and I really like the details of this mustang!
