99 voyager se battery light?

scanner said voltage too high so guy changed alternator, light still comes on. has new battery. he brings it to me and from past exp i pull the cluster and resolder the plug pins as one was cracked. worked fine for a few mins and then the odometer and prnd12 flicker along with all other lights? any suggestions would help. thanks in advance
