Intermittent clutch slip

I'm running a Ram musclecar series clutch between a GM 5.3L and a TKO600. Its actuated by a Wilwood 3/4" master and a Mcleod 1364 hydraulic throwout with DOT3 fluid. About 2500 miles on the setup.

My clutch has been slipping intermittently when shifting under heavy throttle, usually on 1-2 or 2-3 shifts only. Sometimes it will bite right away and chirp the tires, other times it will slip before biting. It seems to slip more often when everything is hot, but I'm not 100% sure.

My guess is that the fluid is getting too hot (the lines run near the headers). I plan on flushing it out for some DOT4 later in the week. Anything else that I should check out while I'm at it?
