ahhhhh man.....what does haven higher lift on rockers to with the DoD ? please tell...and man no one wants to spend 10-15k for a decently priced GXP with 100-150km or less and spend another 5-6K on a turbo kit for what a 12.6 pass? ive seen the videos not worth it and then to build the trans? F********K that Noise when they make a kennebell for it or vortech then call me, a turbo will never beat the sound of the Whine, and i disagree that with
horsepower tuners,cai,rockers,ls1 or ls3 IM one will fit, doug thorley headers, trans to go shift kit, trans cooler....will for sure get u into the 12s with good stickies...im sure someone will post a video of that set up soon enough brother! GXP 303hp & 3600lbs.
from dynos ive seen 245FWHP so from HPT alone ive seen 20whp gain over factory tunes
example: Nissan GTR R32 ,
276HP and 310-320HP with boost restrictor out!
so u have a 12.8sec pass and 0-60 in 4.8sec K? u with me
3,152.6 lb in a 5spd
stock GXPs 13.9-14.1 @99-101mph and 0-60 5.4-5.6sec depending on launch.STOCK
3600lbs car so ive got 500lbs on the GT R
so in reality we have 303hp/245whp
310-320hp/260awhp maybe
so u telling me that with
HPT/RR/CAI/LS whatever IM/shiftkit/headers and good rubbers(street tires)
u couldnt take less then a 1.0sec of 1/4 even with all that!
the rockers alone will give close to 20whp
all i listed probley worth about 40whp give or take
so now we have 290FWHP almost 3600lb car
vs a awd 260AWHP 3150lbs car....
so let me ask you how 450lbs is gunna fare against 30-35whp?
thank you for ur time.

with
rockers
headers
HPT
ls2-3 intake manifold maybe ls1 which ever fits
trans shift kit
trans cooler
cold air intake
heat soaker kit
street tires
i think its possible for a gxp to make it into the 12s
example
1992 nissan skyline GTr
320hp
AWD
3150lbs
5spd
0-60 4.7sec 1/4 12.8
2005 grand prix GXP
303hp
FWD
3600lbs
semi auto
0-60 5.5sec 14.0 1/4
r they reli that different
the R32 maybe makes 260 to the wheels stock
the GXP makes 245 to the wheels stock
difference of 15whp and 450lbs in curb weight
so give or take the mods i listed with the GXP
would gain maybe 30-40whp if done rite(without Cam or Forced Induction)
so now its 245---->275-285to the wheels...
so tell me what happens when its 25whp vs 450lbs you be the judge.

Turbos have much more potential than superchargers. Why do you think all the GTP guys that wanna make real power turbo swap? If all you care about is sound, then performance and lack thereof shouldn't be an issue to you. ;)
And you completely lost me with comparing a R32. Also on the R32 if its making 320 at the crank, it might make 240 at the wheels. Drivetrain loss is almost 25% on a AWD.
Also GEARING plays a big part.

The cars are VERY different. AWD makes a huge difference in the launch. A FWD car is going to be lucky to cut a 2.2 60' in the quarter. The Skyline is going to cut 1.8 60's or better consistently. .1 difference in the 60' is a difference of .2 in the 1/4. So .4 better 60' is going to make the Skyline .8 faster right off the start. Hell look at how much faster the Skyline is to 60 mph. That should tell you something.
The automatic transmission eats A LOT of horsepower. Also gearing plays a huge part in acceleration and 1/4 mile times. I'll give you a for instance.
My SOHC Stealth came from the factory rated a 164 hp. In reality it has more like 180 hp but that's another story. It has run 15.5 in the 1/4. If all I changed was the transmission and put a automatic in my 1/4 mile would drop to 16.5 or slower. Thats all due to horsepower loss and drastically different gearing.
Weight is a bigger factor than you think too. If your curb weights are accurate then that 450 lb difference makes a .45 second difference.
Your comparison is apples to bananas. Its not even apples to oranges.

What happens is the GXP generates an enormous amount of tyre smoke, makes lots of noise and goes no where while the Skyline launches itself into the distance.
Here is one of the old moderators Skylines getting it's launch on:

This car was running about 400hp at the time, and was running mid to high 10s.
It highlights the key differences between the GTR and the GXP, power delivery and traction.

I can give him an even better and a closer comparison than his GXP to GTR.
As you can tell by my sig I am into the 3000GT/Stealth world. Many people do TT conversions on the FWD's.
The AWD TT weighs 3500 lbs and makes 220hp to the wheels stock. The FWD converted TT weighs 3100 and makes 260 hp. Now according to my previous post you would think the FWD converted should be faster since it makes more power and weighs less. You'd be wrong. The AWD TT's are consistently faster than the FWD counterpart. AWD's run low to mid 13's while the FWD's are lucky to run a 14.0

Are these real or hypothetical mods? If real whats your timeslip with these mods?
What brand and size street tires do you have?
I have Nitto NT555 Extreme Performance Zs on my GXP. Traction is greatly improved over the crappy stock Bridgestones. Also, try drag radials but for strip use only.
I ran Nitto drag radials on my '97 GTP and broke over the 13 sec barrier and the 60 ft time was well below 2.0 secs, consistently.

If all else fails just trade it in and get a Camaro SS with the manual. :uhoh:.....

lol, ill agree maybe gxp to R32 was bannana's to tble saw's but i may buy another car now cobalt ss/sc, very light/modable....2806lbs curb,205bhp/175whp 1/4 14.4@100mph and 0-60 in 5.9secs,pretty sure i could go further into mods with this then ma gxp just saying stage 3,is...S3 h/e,header,3"dp,catbak,HPT,2.8"pulley,cai,60lb#,but im also going to get a LS4 throttle body, maybe cam,stg2 clutch, and someone said u could port the m62 blower im not sure tho and im not spending $2400 on TVS1320 either!
let me no what u pro think, appreciate all the help brosky's!

im guessing stage 3 would be closer to 17-18lbs over the stock 12lbs of boost, stage 3 claims 255-275whp, thats 300-323bhp not bad for a 2806lbs car?
