KAWASAKI NINJA ZX-12R - Tamiya 1/12

I build a new model...:)
It's a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12 from Tamiya. These are the sets I'm gonna use to build one (a kit, HD's chainset, CM's PE set):
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u277/cannondaler/IMG_3741.jpg
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u277/cannondaler/foty022.jpg
I started with engine. Removed all plastic screw/nut heads - I'll replace them on T2M's.Painted with Gunze surfacer:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u277/cannondaler/IMG_3740.jpg
Rebuilt swingarm. I filled it with stipes made from polystyrene sheet. Cut off suspension linkage:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u277/cannondaler/foty011.jpg
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u277/cannondaler/foty016.jpg
I also made holes (using halfround file) for a chain tensioner:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u277/cannondaler/foty019-1.jpg
A little upgraded clutch cover and filled with Magic Sculp putty air ducts:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u277/cannondaler/foty006-1a.jpg
Now I'm working on engine paintwork and frame assembly... More updates soon :)

Very clean work on the shock - did you do it all by hand or was there machining tools involved?? like a lathe-mill? All in all this build is really fantastic - John

Thanks!
...or was there machining tools involved?? like a lathe-mill?...
Yes, I use a micro lathe mainly for aluminium parts. I also use plastic round profiles in various diameters.

Jekyll - nice attention to detail on the engine with the use of the T2M bolts - also the chain looks pretty good - what color gold did you use and does it have a wash on it? - thanks - John

I used Alclad's Pale Gold and washed it with Tamiya's X-19 thined enamel.
(...) May I ask what size T2M bolts you're using?
I'm using various bolts, but for engine's covers mainly 0,8 - 1,0 mm hex rivets.
Thanks for comments :)
