my driver window doesnt work. the motor still works I believe bcz it is making noises still but the window dont move. I have looked at it and it looks like the regulator is jammed or something. Im looking at fixing it and I was wondering if I should buy the whole assembly or by the assembly w/o the motor. needing advise on what route to take. is it easy to take the window motor and install it to the new regulator or am I better off getting the whole thing?

The noise you're hear is the motor running . The power windows operate through a pulley and a cable setup to move the window up and down . This cable is prone to unraveling and coming off the pulley . When that happens , the window will not move up or down . As far as replacing the entire unit ( including the motor ) or just the regulator alone , I'd check the motor ( once removed from the door but still hooked up to the wiring harness ) to see if it runs correctly . If not , replace it as well . Most likely it is fine ! I have replaced the regulators in a front and rear door as well and neither time was the motor at fault . The regulators aren't a very good design and tend to fail before the motors do ! Of course , there are exceptions ! The motor is held to the regulator by 3 bolts ( if I remember correctly ) and is easy to remove and replace with the new motor . Good luck !

Thanks, I ordered the window kit no motor. Hopefully I can attach it to the new assembly. The motor work bcz it does move the cable up and down but the cables seem to get tangled in the regulator spool. It should go smooth.

Yes you can attach the old motor to the new assembly quite easily. I think there are 3 screws that hold the motor on (going from memory) and then it slides right out of the assembly.
I do recall some sort of mounting plate though that goes between the motor and the regulator itself, make sure you get the orientation of it right or it will cause you fits when you go to reinstall.
