No reverse lights

I have a 2001 silverado 4.3l 1500 the reverse light bubs are fine the fuses are fine . i notice that there's a part in the tranmission outside i think its call the neutral senor does that have to do with my reverse lights not working

most transmissions have more than one sensor on the transmission, on some vehicles the reverse lights are triggered by a sensor in the transmission.

try jumpering a ground wire to the ground side of the light
