Hi,

we have an 3.8L 98 Lumina and must replace the L hose from LIM to tensioner and want to ask is this job done with just remove the tensioner or is there mor to remove? Did I need gaskets from tensioner to water pump? Thx.

Don't forget to rent a surpentine belt tool @ the locai Auto parts store.

Why this? I span the belt with a 15 nut and a wrench.

It's designed to give more leverage, a belt change usually takes a few min.

To answer your question, you just need the coolant elbow and the new tensioner.

If it's just the coolant elbow leaking, they canbe bought at the local Auto parts store.

Did you have a part no or a name? I didn't find this hose alone...

I think it's in the dorman section @ your local Auto parts store, it's a coolant heater elbow for around $2.00 / 1/2hr fix.

The tensioner still needs tobe removed, and all the broken pieces must be removed from both the intake & tensioner.

Job is done, is very hard work, and I learned first make the hose in the tensioner and then in lim, not reverse...
