Hi at all....
More than 2 years ago i started with this project, now its time to finish it.
The basic kit comes from Model Factory Hiro in scale 1/24, but arround 30% of the model i have to scratch build, because i want it more detailed.
This was how the status was at this time.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/1280_3439306439663332.jpg
Then there was a problem with the clear coat, after 4 weeks it was still not dry.
So i have to start all the body parts from new. With that i have also to order another decal sheet from Model Factory Hiro.
Back to now......
I dont start this from beginning, just how i continue after the mistake with the clear coat.
Ok, i took a look at the pedals from the kit and i know we will never get friends, so i decide to make them scratch, just the foot plates are left from the kit parts.

For the wheels i ad some valves from Aber.

Fit check with the new pedals.

To connect the fuel lines i changed the fuel distributer with some metal tube from Lion Roar.

For the connectors under the air trupets i use also the metal tube and some Evergreen rod.

Very nice work. I also have this kit. I wish Hiro would make more 1/24th F1 kits!! Other than the white metal being not very smooth it is pretty good. Love what you have done with it.

Hi everyone. After a big break from my side this one will continue.
The model is already finish, but i will still continue where it end last time.
After fix all the fuel lines and ignition wire it was time to make some suspension rod's.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3637363935323536.jpg
Also cockpit and engine are married now.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6366363861623439.jpg
I added some rearwingholder parts, Airintakes for the rear brakes and the drive shafts.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3531393065376165.jpg
next was to make the threaded rods.
my idea was to take screws and make them from it. Simple and low price.
the only thing i used was my proxxon some metal drillers and a file.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6333623234353132.jpg
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3130633539653034.jpg
To make them looks more real i use some black washing.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3637343235633430.jpg
And finaly mounted to the rear and front.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3466646634323831.jpg
as you can see all the suspension linkage is mounted.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6561353563333264.jpg
For the brake discs i used all my weathering technics to let them look as much real as possible.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3562623735316638.jpg
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6436373632323039.jpg
Next are the wheel hubs. very simpel use some rivets.
Also the cooler pipes are mounted, made by solder, shrink tube and some Studio 27 metal fittings. The pipes from the kit are a joke.

Next was the underbody to be mounted and also the rearwing.
The rearwing white metal parts are not painted, instead of paint them i decided to polish them.
Ok, it was a little more time to do this but the result is great.

Ok, next step was a little difficult.
After watching some reference pictures i saw there was a throttle system aside the cockpit from the pedals to the engine.
No parts for this in the kits, ok it have to make by scratch.
I used brass pipes, rods, tubes, shrink tube and rivets and also photo each remains to make some parts.
And the result was this:
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6663646635663531.jpg
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6562326566616466.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6239376261336461.jpg
another step at the same time was to wire the pedal hydraulic system with the tanks and the brakes.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6539343462343666.jpg
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3066613936633431.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3437613339613863.jpg
Next was to make the base.
The guard rail i found in my cabinet where i have all my modelling stuff.
I thaught yes why not use this for the base.
I just tune them with some metal screws.Lokks a little more realistic.
The floor is just airbrushed in diffrent colors until i got what i wanted.
at the end i have used some grass, leaves, flowers, stones leaves of grass, etc.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3865663034326536.jpg
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/6136393963393733.jpg
Here is also a pic. of Carlos Reuteman which i used as reference to paint the figure.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3466366632396539.jpg
Ok, the last steps i made are make all the wire stuff which was left, make seat belts, paint the figure and the helmet and finish the base.
And this is the finished model.

Here is also a pic. of Carlos Reuteman which i used as reference to paint the figure.

Ok, the last steps i made are make all the wire stuff which was left, make seat belts, paint the figure and the helmet and finish the base.
And this is the finished model.

Roger,
What was the primary adhesive you used for assembly - cyano or epoxy? The fine joins at PE and tubing in particular.
The build is spectacular and I congratulate you.

Thank you guys for the nice comments.
@MerlinPro
What was the primary adhesive you used for assembly - cyano or epoxy?
I use allways Cyano ZAP PT-02 (ZAP-A-GAP, Medium CA+)
Godd for:
-Gap filling formula.
-Bonds Virtually anything.
-Works on oily surfaces.
But i do not use it direct. First i drop some drops on a brass plate and adhesive with a wooden toothpick.
The adhesive can be as outgas long enough. So you dont have any outgas-traces on your model.
I try many adhesives before but nothing works like i want, only this one.
Also i make 1/43 kits with this adhesive. You can find some postes hier from me.
