Windshield wiper switch replacement

Looking for some insite before I replace the windshield wiper/blinker/highbeam switch on my 2005 Ram 1500. My question is do I have to remove the steering wheel or can it be replaced without going that far? If the wheel needs to come off, I have to find someone to do the job as I do not have the proper tools. Thanks in advance.

Strg wheel and shroud need to come off.

I realize the shroud has to come off by why the wheel? Two articles I found online mentioned turning the steering wheel. What is correct if anything. Cant do anything till Sunday with it as it is at We-Fest for the weekend. Kids.
