Looks like it was in some kind of Targa event, or a track day???
I crewed on a Targe event a few years ago where someone showed up with a brand new RS6.
It was their first race car, and their first race event.
Unsurprisingly they managed to crash on the first stage, some how went off the road and lodged the car half way up a tree.

O-M-G That was painful to watch in HD. Damage looked mostly cosmetic though, not much mechanical or structural...?
Very expensive never the less!

Hope it was the barrier and not another car that did the damage!

I would imagine it's a write off.
All the suspension on that side would be bent or broken, and that much damage to a body shell is impossible to repair with out a half cut, or a new body.
Hope it was the barrier and not another car that did the damage!

It doesn't look like a write off to me, I've seen touring cars look worse than that, back on the track for the 3rd race! Did you see Plato roll his car a few weeks ago, it looked worse than that and he was back out the same day in the same car.
Maybe Audi's are more work though...

That's a road car, not a race car.
The differences are quite considerable. :p
