was stranded with the car yesterday
went out to start the car the starter just clicked
battery cables where loose just alittle
jump started car and ran fine
got home tightened cables before shutting off
let it run for another 20 min and then shut off and tryed starting again
Nothing but clicking from starter
tryed putting a charger on battery nothing but clicking
removed starter and had it tested
Starter checked out ok
No matter what i do it will not start
Just clicks
no security light at all
Any help we are stranded at home and need some advice
thanks

i would start by checking the battery, with everything you did & have checked
its possible the battery has failed.you can do some tests with a v/meter,check
voltage on battery & check when turning to start see if the volts drop off.
you ck starter but does it have 12v to the solonoid?if the battery is original
chances are the battery needs replacement.

not sure how your by passing the battery?if you mean with the bat charger alot of chargers dont put out enough amps to jump start a car
especially if its a trical charger.if the starter is clicking than more than likely your getting the power to it & you've already had starter tested but still may want to check its getting 12v .clean all connections & charge the battery for atleast an hour or remove it & have it tested

sorry just hot and fustrated
i used one of the post next to the relays on the passenger side is what i meant
and im using a high powered battey charger 12 volt high
so im sure im getting enough from it to at least start it if that was the problem
sorry not used to working on the newer cars this one has been bullet proof till now but 180,000 they dont last forever
is there a starter relay or a fuse or multiple of them
Explain how to test voltage at starter
do i need someone to turn key while im doing this/??
thanks for the help

im sure there are relays ect. hopefully someone will have a diagrahm.
you can check fuse box under the hood for breakers/fuses
with a volt meter see if you have 12v at the starter solonoid when trying to start (at the S terminal purple wire)
