Mini Me Swap

So I've read all these articles about this "mini-me swap", but what if I just want VTEC? Nothing more, nothing less... Can I just get the D16Z6 head and the ECU and be done with; or do I have to go through with all the stuff about fuel lines, trannys, fuel rails, etc...? What's the simplest way to do this (but I still want quality).

you can get the d16 head if you have a d-series motor. and it will require some significant re-wiring. as far as fuel lines n such go...I don't believe that you will need to upgrade your fuel system to go witht eh v-tec head. the ecu will take care of the fuel flow. course,it never hurts to have the ability to pump more stuff into/through the engine (ie: new intake, manifold, rail, throttle body, yada yada yada).

but yeah, if you have a d-series, you can v-tec it with a z6 head and ecu swap.

what are you rollin in anyway?

Yeah sorry about that, i've been up for the past 27 hours (my graduation was last night, and i haven't slept since). I just come home every now and then, take a shower, check my email, and head off to another party. Ok, got another question for ya'll
1.To do the swap on my car, I read somewhere that you should get a timing belt off of a VX model? Is there any truth in this?

why would you need the timing belt off a VX? The only thing good about my car (a VX) is the O2 sensor on it. I've been told by a number of mechanics to keep the o2 sensor after the swap. they didnt tell me why, outside of "its a really good one" and "they are really expensive"

maybe that's what you want. other than that, the VX aint exactly spiffy, it has a v-tec E engine, but that is something very different from the other v-tec. E=economy.

its a grillcraft sport grill.
I got it at Summit Racing for $134 (course, I live a 1/2 mile from there so I didnt pay for shipping)

Grillcraft makes them to fit, or to cut yourself. The only reason I bought it is because I thought the home depot grill I made for $6 was just too cheesy.

yeah no jive brotha! pretty frickin ridiculous. I tried makin my own, too much of a pain in the arse. so I caved, and bought the grill. my oem was haggered though, I had fog lamps flush mounted in there that had to go, so there was no saving the grill. s'ok though, 1 time cost.

as for the O2 sensor, my junk yard guy told me that the o2 sensor on my car runs about $325. again, my junk yard guy. I dont know, never looked into it. before I go off buying areally expensive o2 sensor, I'd make sure it's what you need first.

PM civicHBsi91 (right screen name?) from what I've seen, he's the d16 expert on here.

peace!

whoops! sorry candlaudio, maybe I should read who's posting before I reply like a jackass. either way, yeah that's the price I was told for the O2.

not sure what bigmojo would do with it.
