I start this post as I'm working so hard on this model right now.

however, as I'm a Vag lover, I'm gonna try you to like this wip... :)

I trade this model with a friend on 2nd. July, and as I can't be without doing something in a model (altough having many started WIPS), I'm working on it now.

I received the car like this, with the 3door conversion started. (2nd. July)

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg20/scaled.php?server=20&filename=04072011024.jpg&res=medium

I saw that driver's side wasn't "in line" with the body lines, so I took it out, and do it again and fill the "hole" with automotive putty. After sanding, the Golf sides looked like these, with some imperfections to fix and fill. (15th. July)

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg135/scaled.php?server=135&filename=17072011080.jpg&res=medium

I had half work made, as back windows needed to be changed and fixed, so 2 days ago, I started to cut, paste, fill with putty, sand, fill, cut... and so..
I did the most of the window frame, and with some "evergreen" and the parts that were cut from the body, I filed the "holes". (19th. July-20th. July)

Continues...

After the glue has dried, I took my putty box, and started to give the "join points" some. Here comes the beast, and IT'S ALIVE!!!
http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg808/scaled.php?server=808&filename=imgp0548l.jpg&res=medium

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg189/scaled.php?server=189&filename=imgp0550p.jpg&res=medium

even inside, it was full of putty.. ;)
http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg64/scaled.php?server=64&filename=imgp0551v.jpg&res=medium

I took some Blueprints (changed to 1/24 scale) and add the measures I did from a MKIII's friend, if somebody needs it, I'll share it with ya...

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg13/scaled.php?server=13&filename=imgp0557p.jpg&res=medium

Then Today, I started to sand the putty (It made my fingers hurt... :-| ) And here you have the result.
http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg15/scaled.php?server=15&filename=imgp0566ec.jpg&res=medium

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg43/scaled.php?server=43&filename=imgp0572x.jpg&res=medium

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg200/scaled.php?server=200&filename=imgp0570.jpg&res=medium

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg808/scaled.php?server=808&filename=imgp0571.jpg&res=medium

I sanded the putty on the interior, and the tried the glasses (which have already the frames painted in black) on, and surprise!!! the fit nearly perfect!!! (only some corrections must be done) The only thing I'm a bit worried about is back windows, that are different to the 5door Golf.

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg577/scaled.php?server=577&filename=imgp0573h.jpg&res=medium

I've tried a set of "ATS Classic" wheels, but some friends told me to change them, so I decided to set on some BBS RG wheels.. ;)

http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg135/scaled.php?server=135&filename=imgp0580d.jpg&res=medium

And still continues... :D

While I was working on the body, I tried to do little things on the inside. One day, I found a die cast Audi TT MKI, and I decided to take out the interior, and fit the dashboard, steering wheel and seats to the MKIII, and here is how it looks... (need a bot of work on widen the dash and "rebuilding" the seats.

And I'm doing a badgeless VW... (not started by me, and a lot of work on here... )

And know, some of my ideas for the color... ;)
this order: Indian Red, Porcelain blau, Jazzblau (metallic one from MKIV), Windsor Blau, Twilight violet... I accept suggestions... ;)

That was a lot of work done to the body! Did you use styrene to reconnect the sections before putting on putty? I had done a similar job with milliput and boy was the body easy to crack. Just milliput alone is barely strong enough to hold the body sections together especially when you put the body over the chassis.

I suggest Windsor Blau or Twilight Violet for color. Keep up the good long work!

Thanks for watching!!! ;) Ya are correct, there is styrene to "fill" de holes, inside tne body and "between"... ;) this was made in order not to allow body to bend..

Keep doing what your doing. It took a lot of time for me to finish mine. The hard work will pay off. Most important thing is to putty, sand, prime and keep repeating this process until your satisfied. Good luck.
