Visor light cover

The hinges broke on my drivers side visor cover so now the lid does not turn off the lights. They want big money for replacement parts. Any ideas for a clever hinge fix or how to get the bulbs out so i don't ruin my headliner and/or drain my battery?

If it is broke pull it on off.

I use the mirror so I dont want to pull the assembly off of the visor. How do you get to the bulbs so that I can pull them out?

I ment just pop the rocker switch out.
There should also be a fuse you can pull out.
What year make and model do you have?
Have you checked the bone yard for one?

2002 4 door. There did not appear to be a dedicated fuse and the switch is a pin depressed by the closed lid. How do the bulbs come out?

To remove bulbs insert a small screwdriver into the small slot on side of lens and gently remove lens.

To kill lights remove.
Curtesy fuse {CTSY} no 8 I/P panel fuse block feeds Body Relay for curtesy lights.
Rear view mirror lights feed off of curtesy lamp relay wire E5 orange
