OK, had my kid checking out info, now its my turn.
Got a 94 25th anniv T/A, slightly modified as follows: Lightweight composite ram air hood (functional w/ram air box from Suncoast creations. 3 in pipes, eddelbrock headers, cat back cat conv, flowmaster exhaust and mufflers. replaced rims and rubber w/17 X 9.5 vice the orig @16X7's. (Orig exhaust was 2.5 in pipes). Moving to Fl., plan on spending around 50K on mech, 20-30 K on body. WHY? Orig owner, had car through 2 ex's, still running. Not sure on legal swap on engine in Fl, Ca requires LT1 in car, unable to go w/different eng. Intend to set up car for show. Have big plans for exterior, but want to keep basic 25th anniv theme. Interested in suggestions on suspension, transmission (want to keep automatic), rear end, and engine mods/crate replacement. Blower optional, but no turbos, don't want to sound like a rice burner. looking for rwhp @ close to 600, but still street legal, trying to get 1/4 mi times to around 10/10.5. Any suggestions? I'm a bit outa my league on this one.

With the money you plan on putting into the car, you should be looking to be deep in the 9s in the quarter instead of tens. And you'll need some quality work done on the back end to keep that kind of power on the ground.
Believe me when I say turbos are not what makes the car sound like a "rice burner". And, forced induction is one of the only ways you'll get the car to the speeds you want on the stock block of the car. (don't know why you'd want to swap out the LS1 for an LT1 anyway)
Stop in at www.ls1.com - lots of people who have done what you're setting out to do. They'll be able to get you suppliers and tips (even if you can't find them in the search engine there). Keep us up to speed on your progress. Sounds like you're going to have one fine ass machine :)

well it sounds like you did alot to it. but have you ever tryed a bigger engine. a friend had a 69 pontiac firbird and bord out the engine from a 454 to a 468. it runs on alchoal that bitch is mean. well the colder the air in your engine the more power you can get. ice man cool air intake and a K&N air filter will add a little but not alot.
