air filter in a '06GP

Just bought a standard K&N air filter for my GP. Was thinking of altering the air filter box to allow more air, like a cold air intake. Noticed some electrical components at the bottom of the box. Should I have any concerns about them getting wet? Am I better of just leaving it alone and not altering anything? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!

Your ECU is programed to have a Air/Fuel mix 14.7:1 regardless of paper or cloth.
If either is plugged with dirt or too much oil on the K&N filer, you will have problems.
The symptoms of a bad air filter, your car will be slow to react, and random misfires.

Not sure about that year, but it should be the PCM; you don't want it to get wet. I think there are some CAI kits with a new enclosure included.

You obviously don't have an understanding of what more air does. More air means more power.

More air means LESS throttle required to do the same thing. If more air meant nothing then turbos and superchargers would offer no additional power.

You can use a Sham wow with a little fogging oil will do the same thing!

Nobody was saying anything about Turbos + Superchargers forcing more air.

Also see simular Threads k&N.

The only way to change the Air/fuel mix is a program adjustment or reflash of the ECU.

No one said a thing about changing the a/f.

He wants to get more air to the engine which will equal MORE POWER.
