Is it throwing the belt? A lot of the automotive stores will pull it for you, Wait a minute, I'm thinking about power steering pump pulley. Some power steering pumps don't come with a new pulley, have to reuse the old one.
The alternator comes with a pulley. Just my opinion, I wouldn't fool with it. Get another alternator.

I tried installing a new pulley on mine when the bearings started to go bad but had no success, AFAIK you need to take apart the alternator, I couldn't even loosen the big nut at the front of it. Most people just replaces it with a new one becuase of the wear on electrical parts too.

you can use an air impact wrench to get the nut off. Then use it again to get a new one on. An auto shop could probably make the swap for you in about a minute providing you bring them the alternator out of the car.
