hi all,i just installed some kyb agx shocks on the rear of my '89 crx today.im using intrax sport springs with the 2.5" drop.i was wondering if the shocks will "settle" over time.i still have about an inch of fender gap.i hate the gap, lol.how much will it probably settle?thanks in advance

if after lowering your car and u still dont like the ride height, cut some coils using a dremel tool. i took 2 coils off my eibach sportlines

i thought about cutting my coils, but i dont want to make the car more prone to bottoming out.i also dont wanna ruin the new shocks i have on there.
hows the ride since you've cut the coils?if i do cut them could i just cut one coil per spring?i only want to lose another 3/4" to 1".also could i use a hacksaw to cut them?i dont have a dremel

cut some coils using a dremel tool Thats not good for the springs. Buy new springs or invest in a good coil-over set-up.

Your shocks weaken over time, its the springs that settle.

I wouldnt cut any springs, especially ones you just spent money on....

Just like those guys said, its not safe....and definitely not beneficial to performance.

safe or not safe, cut or not to cut, it doesent really matter to me, try something new or dont, i like my car nice and low to the ground, but thats just me... i cut my springs i like my ride, im still on stock shocks, so maybe after that it will be even better.

you guys smell that? smells like some *rice* cooking :hehehe:

seriously, spring cutting is crap. if you want to go lower than springs, get coilovers, you can get cheap ones for $89 from www.truckn-store.com. If they arent' low enough for you, you can remove the coilover part and just use the springs. It will tuck stock 13" wheels about 1 1/2"

i know of a few cars with cut springs (not stock springs) that ride totally fine. i think if done right, its not too bad....

i dont think anybody can just cut springs, thats where poor quality comes to place..

just my 2 cents

you can get cheap ones for $89 No thanks, a decent set of coil-overs runs $750 or so retail price.

obviously if you are cutting your springs, you are doing so soley to make the car appear lower. cheap coilover sleeves are a much better option. You are talking matched coilover sets like tein and such.
