Question:

What is so fun about getting "shitty"? I mean, seriously. Why do people enjoy getting drunk off there ass? Last time I was seriously drunk, I fucking hated it. So why do people do this week after week, and sometimes, day after day? Can you not think of anything better to do? Not to mention, thats got to be a waste of money. :rolleyes: But please, someone inform me of the joys of getting "shitty".

Now dont get me wrong, getting a good buzz occasionaly can be fun. But I just dont see why you want to get shitty ass drunk, all the time.

I drink beer, but do not get drunk, shitty or even buzzed. If I have more then 2 beers a night, its a red letter day. Some people just dont have self control or dont mind when they lose it. I cant stand not being in control of what I say or do.

There are probably 1000 and 1 reasons why people enjoy it. I personally don't and don't enjoy being around people when they do. My hunny's former boss used to get sh*tfaced all the time...when we would go to parties at his place he would go overboard and start cursing at his wife n kids, then beat up on his dog...being an animal lover I was very uncomfortable with that...so I told Alex I wasn;t going to any more those parties.

I've been more than buzzed before, but it happens VERY rarely, and it's kinda nice every once in a while to kinda be only partially aware of what ails them... I don't like it when someone has to be drunk all the time. That shows too great a lack of self-control for my liking. It's been over 4 months since I last got "shitty" so I'm kinda craving a little tipsy fun right now...

As a teen, it was cool to see who could get the drunkest... I passed out in some girls lap one night face down, right in her crotch. I guess she liked it because she asked me on multiple occasions when I was going to do it again.

Now that I'm older, I never drink to get drunk. I have had a buzz catch up with me unexpectedly, especially when there are a lot of people and good conversation going on, like at a BBQ or something.

I hate waking up in pain, or getting sick. Other than an occasional margarita, beer is my buddy.

i think KB is talkin about getting REALLY drunk, like throwing up all over the place and stuff. Not about just getting drunk.

I do have self control, i drink till i'm drunk, but i know my exact limit till when i have too much and i'll need to throw up. I hate throwing up so i don't get "shitty"

but i still usually get drunk everyweekend :D I haven't thrown up in a couple monthes though

and don't hassle alcoholics unless they do somethin to you ;)

Not only that but it is a waste of a perfectly good liver, maybe.
I think binge drinking is utterly a waste of time, money, and your liver. Sure drink, but don't go get so entirely smashed that your judgment is smashed as well.

J/K - when I drink, I like to drink alot - but I will not drink to the point of stupidity ever again. When I know enough is enough - I'll either pace myself to keep that buzz going, or stop and start drinking water to sober up abit.

Getting right smashed sucks. The nauseating feeling in the stomache, pounding headaches, the embarrassment, etc.

Well I do it b/c ... Sometimes i feel that i need it to releve stress and to forget about my problems for that nite or weekend . I'm not talking about getting so shitty to the point i throw up and feel like shit i'm talking about where i feel good where i'm just mellow b/c theres too much damn stress in life so i need something to calm my nerves :) I hope that helps out kris

Getting shitty means getting really angry with someone, I dont know why you Yanks think its about getting drunk.

Getting Shitfaced however is getting really really pissed or drunk.

As to why? I have no idea, I think it has a lot to do with poeple not knowing thier limits, or losing touch when they are drunk. Its sometimes hard to know how much you've really been drinking, and if your an especialy happy drunk its easy to just keep drinking long after you should have stopped.
Others may do it for what they persieve as social respect, or as a result of peer pressure.
Others may do it simply to get attention.
Iv done it a few times simply because I just didn't feel like stopping, or because I lost track of how much I had been drinking.
But I quickly learned from it, and have got totaly shit faced in a very long time.

some ppl at school are like:
"ya man, last night was the bomb. I got so hammered"
"dude, i got even more hammered than u, i puked 9 times"

Even tho I dont goto bars, or drink regularly, I enjoy getting a buzz every once in a while, either from mikes, or beer.

No one has made a good point yet as to why it is so "cool" to get drunk? do some ppl enjoy the pain of hangovers? i dont get it :confused:
