98 Altezza-manual

Hi everyone im a new member to this site.
Just having extreme problems with my car, its a 98 toyota Altezza, manual transmission. Cost around 12 thousand. Ive had on-going problems had to get the diffs replaced and the accelorator cable fixed. Then on sunday I went to turn the engine on and it would not turn over. Sent it to a different auto shop and they have just told me the engine was flooded with petrol and basically its a tired worn engine that needs to be replaced, with a long list of other parts needing replacement. :runaround:
My insurance company has agreed to purchase a second hand engine and replace the cambelt. Costing around 3500?, but the mechanic still sugests i pay to replace the water pump, the air filter? and not certain yet but the manual clutch? I havnt been sent a exact list yet, but can anyone tell me how much i am looking at paying and is the car worth keeping after its fixed?? :eek7:
