on 92 deville can EGR be cleaned

I installed new fuel pump on 92 deville, now car stalls, sputters and quits. Can a dirty ERG do this and can it be cleaned. the codes I think just show reset computer which I did by removing bat cable for half hour.

If the egr is stuck partial open it can cause stalling and hesitation at low speed, remove it and see what it looks like.
