This guy my cousin knows says he is running a turbo at 12psi with stock internals on his 2000 eclipse . This is what he said.
"I was pushing 12 pounds on stock internals with my setup. You have to go with either evo 8 ecu (200 bucks) or go with aem standalone (1500 bucks). "
How true is this?

Hard to say... Might be possible, but I can't see it lasting too long at all if he is... I don't think the whole Evo 8 ecu thing would work, but I could be wrong. I don't know any 3g tuners...

First off a 2000 eclipse has a 4g64 engine (not a 420a) which is decently stout. It based directly off the 4g63. So its a possibility you may be able to run an evo ecu, idk.

My cousin said he has alot of problems with his car (he didn't say what) but this guy is known to just talk sh*t. Just wanting to know cause I want so bad to put my 7 or 9psi spring in..lol
Oh ya, instead of making a whole new post I will just ask here. Speaking of the 4g63 being more stouter than the 420a. If I were to do a motor swop from 420a to 4g63 would we have to replace the whole wiring harness and computer? All my buddies are running 4g63's and IM the only one with the 420a. They keep saying I should swop. I like the 420a no doubt, but if the 4g63 can offer more then I want to go with that.

The swap wouldnt be cost effective. Do a quick google for the 420a to 4G63 conversion and just watch the flame wars flare up. Everything about the swap would be expensive and very difficult. Seriously, just google the idea and you'll see what I mean

You basicly said the same thing a friend said. He said I mine as well save up money and put it with the money I would spend on a swap and buy an eclipse already with a 4g63.

I'd have to agree on just buying one with everything there already rather than going through the headache of a swap... However, there are some 420a guys making some serious power nowadays if it is done right...
