Hi all, its been a while since ive posted on here with one of my WIPS, but this is my latest one. Trying to get back into the game. It is Tamiya's Honda CRX. i wanted to start something small before i go on to tackling more difficult builds, and this one is just for fun as well. It will have a bunch of pieces from other models in it. here are some pictures of what ive started so far.
Color is Sterling Silver Metallic from a spray can, i dont have a compressor for my airbrush kit just yet.

i started using solder wrapped around a screw for the springs. i think it looks alot better than the molded pieces
http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af137/4refig/TAMIYACRX002.jpg
shocks/struts were painted this 'brisk blue' with a nail polish that my wife bought and i thought it looked alot like the Tokico Blue shocks, also dont know whether to go with the silver springs, or the green Tein looking springs. i used cat5e wire for the green springs. and testors gold for the Brembo effect on the brakes (supplied by an RX-7)

and lastly the engine, which i plan to add some black wash too make it pop out more. testor's aluminum and chrome silver were used for this
http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af137/4refig/TAMIYACRX001.jpg
still to come, lamborhini mirrors, custom exhaust system, and who knows what else, thanks for looking, questions and criticism are welcomed

nice start. the silver looks pretty good on there.
i think you should go for the green tein springs. itll match the tokico shocks.

a small update, the custom exhaust which took me all day to figure out, has been primed, engine has been weathered with a reddish brown color, and the wheels have been decided on. i had to change the tires from the originals to white walls since they wouldnt have fit. does anyone have a technique for reducing/shrinking the size of a tire?

Cut and glue, that's the only one I know.

Looks good so far! I like the "screw" technique for springs. ;)
However, just one simple tip. One that I took like forever to learn. Take your time, and your models would come out looking better than u expected it to.
Cheers!
