transmission shudder?

I have a 1996 olds 88 and when in overdrive when the torque converter locks up I get a shudder/ vibration? I've seen others with this problem but no one replies with the solution when it is finally found. Need help.

When was the last time the plugs and wires were replaced?

plugs last year. wires a couple months ago. added some friction modifier to the transmission wednesday and that may have repaired it. right after i added it drove it 10 miles and it lightly only once. my girlfriend drove it 200 miles to Fla and she said it didnt shudder. will post again when she gets back and let you know it it has completely stopped.
