1998 looses fuel pressure

I have a 1998 GTP, i had my water pump replaced last week, every thing went fine for about 5 miles then it started cutting out of power. My rpms died to 0 but it fired back up when i hit the gas. this lasted 2 blocks before it died completely. i put it in nuetral and it would not start up. I pulled the relay fuse and bent the tab over to put the fuel pump into high mode, but still wont start. So i bought a fuel pressure gauge and when i turn the key on without engine running it goes over 50 but when i try starting the car it slowing dies down to 0. What should i try next? It also isnt throwing any codes. before i replaced the locked up water pump it would start and run for about 5 second then die.

This sounds like a problem with the fuel pressure regulator. If you have 50 PSI when the pump is running but not the engine it is possible that the regulator has failed and is not maintaining the proper pressure while the engine is running. The regulator is located in the front of the engine so pull the vacuum line and see if you get fuel from the port if you do then the regulator is bad and needs replaced.

Are you sure you did the bent pin on the pump relay properly?

I replaced the resistor and still nothing. It seems that its not firing at all. any ideas?

Ignition module or Crank position sensor! Try the CPS first.
