2002 Yukon Xl Dimmer Problem

I installed a after market HU recently and had to take my dash trim panel off the other day to run some new speaker wire. In the process of pulling off the dash the instrument panel lights went out. Being at night they are suppose to be illuminated because of the autolights. Fuses are all good, no wires pinched or touching anything. The lights only come on when I roll up the dimmer switch to turn the dome light on. Does anyone know what this could be.

If you turn the park lamps on manually (parade mode) do the cluster, radio, and hvac backlights become full bright?
