I need to know what size motor!

I got a Ford Ranger that's an 88, but the motor is not an 88, the motor is a 1998. I need to know what size this motor is. Is it a 2.3 or 2.5. It has a tag on the side of the block, and the date says 12/98, then it says parts no. E7ZZCJX then another number that says number, it's 1246267. I need to know this as soon as possible. Thanks!

I am surprised no one answered this for you. I am positive your engine being a 1998 model is a 2.5Liter 4 cyl.

There are always other ways to check things by doing searches on the net.
