Mobil 1 Lexus SC430 Super GT 1:24

So I have finished another model kit (9 months after the last one :D)
It's Tamiya's Lexus SC430 kit released in 2007 depicting Super GT 2006 season car. The kit has cons at using metal plate in the middle of chassis to "add realism", missing half of the mudguards and lack of detail in the interior.

The model is depicting Team Le Mans number 6 machine, driven by Akira Iida (Hot Version/Option famous :D) and Tatsuya Kataoka. The results in the 2006 season were average but in the 3rd round in Fuji they managed to finish 2nd after starting 13th on the grid. This model with it's bodykit is depicting the Fuji 2nd position finishing machine :D

I started this built in september 2009 and after finishing decals on the body some problems occurred. I didn't know how to deal with so much carbon places and what to do with chrome frontgrille (ejector pins on the wrong side..how do I replace chrome I would strip away?).

But with the Model kit exhibition tomorrow I decided to finish something to bring some new fresh models :D This would be the only Super GT machine in that exhibition among 51 other cars :D

The built was disapointing at the end because Clearcoat ate some of the carbon decals on the wing and the body does not align well on the right side of the car + not to mention mistakes I did in 2009 (scratches, burnt paint etc)

But in the end I am satisfied with the built. Finally I have a model of a Super GT car on the shelf, not only in books and videos! :D

Paints were Tamiya and Gunze.
Carbon CrazyModel (used in 2009) and switched to better Scalemotorsports nowadays.
PE Parts Hobby Design, ReJi and Tamiya used on Bonnet pins + seatbelt buckets.
+ Tire stencil from CrazyModel to paint Bridgestone logos.

Still have 2 SuperGT's to do... Calsonic 2008 GT-R and Zent Cerumo Half black/half chrome Lexus 2007!
