95 Ford F150 Hydraulic Clutch Problems Need Help

I have a 1995 F150 4x4 302 5 speed stick shift. The other day the hydraulic clutch quit working correctly. So I checked the fluid & it was low & there was a small leak at the hose going into the bellhousing. So I fixed that & filled the clutch cylinder with brake fluid. Still not working right. (Won't go into gear without shutting off engine.) So I crawled under it & bled it as my friend kept the cylinder full. We bled a pint of fluid through it & still nothing. There is a little clutch just not much. The throwout bearing moves about 3/4" in.
Does anyone have any thoughts or can someone give me a direction to go?
