Hi, I have a '93 Lumina with the 3.1 in it. I had to take the alternator out and fix the connections. While I had the alternator out, I decided to replace the serpentine belt at the same time since the old one is starting to get cracked and breaking in some spots. The problem I am running into now is getting the new belt on the car around all of the pulleys. I did end up taking the belt tensioner off of the car (big mistake) and was able to get it back on, but can not get the new belt on. Is there a certain way the belt should be put back on? Is there one pulley that should be done last to get the belt on? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!:banghead:

1) Check under the hood for a sticker.
2) A local Auto parts store will print you a copy, or just use Google
''Serpentine belt diagram 1993 lumina 3.1''
If you are not using a serpentine belt tool, borrow one from the auto parts store, it will make your fix easier.

I have the diagram and the tool. I just can't get the belt on all of the pulleys. I'm thinking that there is a sequence or something to getting the belt on.

Connect the belt tool to the tensioner and use the bar to push down, so you can put the belt on.
