How do you remove parking brake cable?

I'm making some custom kick panels for my 88 caprice for a set of speakers and right now I'm trying to get the parking brake removed so I can take it out of the car, heat it up and bend it so it will clear the speakers.
I got all the bolts removed, and right now there is just the cable stopping me from removing it all the way. I'm sure I could eventually figure it out. But I rather not learn the hard way and really FK some **** up. lol
Just need to remove it from this point. From inside the car at the parking brake pedal system.

Or would it be better to remove one end of the cable from here- underneath the car.

Or just go ahead and cut the cable(save me the head ache) and ditch the parking brake altogether. I don't really park anywhere on steep hills or anything. However I do always use it(just became a habit to use it all the time)

.I would look for an adjuster loosen up the cable and take it apart at one of the points which your picture shows. This is a safety feature in case you loose your regular brakes. Don't cut the cable and remove.

on your vehicle this is an emergency brake as well as a parking brake !
some vehicles only have parking brakes like my 2000silverado which if applied with the vehicle moving would blow up and fail in less than one second.
the reason this emergency brake is required is because of brake failure. this occurs suddenly when the brake line ruptures..usually at a small point on the brake line where it is impossible to inspect..having your style emergency brake is an excellant back up should this occur..also using this a few times a month helps keep the self adjusters to set the brake shoes adiustment.
the kick panel for a speaker is on this type vehicle a bad spot...why not use the door. with this you will get better low frequency response and using the proper materials protect and reduce any outside noises..
my state does inspect this for proper operation...My guess this would apply in california if this is your location..

I don't need to have my car inspected. And you can get very good sound imaging with kick panel. Instead of speakers in the doors the sound of the music is just flowing from left to right at your legs. With kick panels the sound it going directly to driver and passengers ears.
Passenger side speaker aims at the drivers right ear and driver side speaker aims at the passengers left ear.
I have already relocated the cars computer on the passenger side.
Now I need to take the E-brake out so I can bend it a little to clear the kick panels.
Either that or I will remove it completely. I did some research on this and the e-brake is typically a problem with kick panels. So most people ditch them(cause they claim it's not needed with an automatic, manual trans different story) Or they take it out and bend the pedal to clear the kicks or cut and weld to modify it a bit.
I have a rear end from a 96 9C1 caprice I plan to put in soon with the disc brakes. If I remove the e-brake all together I was going to come up with something and hook the e-brake cable to an actuator. And just push a button to engage it.
Ok, I got up under the car again and found this point here.

I did another search online and finally came across a old thread on a site about a gbody. Which use a lot of the same components a caprice or any other 80's model gm car does.
They said something about using a box wrench to loosen the cable. So I assume I can loosen the cable a bit from one of these points.
