My trucks leaking oil into #6 piston not sure if its piston ring leaking or valve stem seals or if the piston just flat out broke just wondering as of to how long i can drive it like this i know its not good for the motor but i'm most likely going to buy a crate motor for it. motor still has a lot of power for only being on 7pistons sounds beastly like has a drag cam and wants to turn off but doesn't i don't think its really effecting it unless it hits high rpm you cant hear the piston slap i know its leaking oil tho because its coming out the exhaust only at #6 port would those extenders for spark plugs help it out? any advise would be helpful trying to avoid pulling the motor out for the time being using it just for school. so its not driven much maybe like 20miles a week.

Maybe.

What vehicle? What engine?

What is the cranking compression?

I'd be doing a leakdown test, too. Find out WHAT is leaking--rings, intake valve, exhaust valve.

Finding out WHY the cylinder has problems is half-way to fixing them. Be a shame to yank an engine if all it needs is valve stem seals. Or a valve job, for that matter.

You can pretty much expect to install new catalytic converter(s); the excess oil will have poisoned what's on there now.

Mine kept fouling out two plugs with oil. Turned out being the intake gaskets were sucked in on those ports so the cylinders were drinking oil from the LIM valley.... Just a thought. And so is the cylinder dead, or if you change the plug will it run on all 8?
