Replacing radiator in gf`s 88

The radiator in my gf`s 1998 Olds 88 is leaking from the bottom,so I`ll be replacing it with a new one this weekend. Here`s my plan:

Take off old radiator
Flush system/engine out with garden hose
Install new radiator
Replace Dex Cool with green glycol antifreeze and top off with water

How many gallons of antifreeze do I need to use? I`ve been told to pour in 2 gallons,then top off with water. I`m using pure strength anti freeze,not the pre-mix 50/50 stuff. I`ll be using Zerex original formula green.

I normally buy 1gal of the green coolant dump that into a 5gal bucket fill up the 1gal coolant bottle and dump that in to the 5gal bucket as well, fill the car up and pour whats left back into the 1gal coolant bottle. You will want to keep it in the car for a few days until you are sure you have all of the air out of the system.

also if your going to flush with the garden house take the thermostat out of the car, really easy to do will be on the right side of the motor if your facing from the front right on the top with a coolant hose connected to it.

Thanks so much! The repair was a success :^) I got it all done Sat when I got home from work. Had a lil trouble getting the tranny cooler lines to quit leaking where they meet the radiator,but after adjusting them,all is well. I`ll be sure and check over everything when she gets in from work this afternoon.
