Forum newbie here.

My 2004 OEM Panasonic battery was replaced yesterday with a battery from Autozone. I bought the Duralast 27-DLG because it's physical dimensions were similar with that of the Pansonic.

The OEM battery, when installed, had the positive terminal towards the median of the SUV. The negative terminal was proximal to the lateral. The cables were positioned in a way where there was not much play. The Duralast had the terminals in the opposite location.

Thus, upon installing, we connected the battery cables to the wrong battery terminals. The positve battery cable connected to the battery's negative terminal. The negative battery cable to the battery's positive terminal.

A few sparks flew when the positive cable touched the battery's negative terminal. My horn honked when placed close to it.

The battery was returned to Autozone. I bought the correct battery at a local Toyota dealership and installed the battery. The SUV is able to start, however, a list of issues occurred. The dashboard indicator lights remain on, the fan/AC, radio, clock, power windows, signal lights, and brake lights no longer respond or perform the indicated action.

We cannot back out of the driveway because we cannot go beyond "Park."

I have checked a few of the type A fuses and found only two to replace. Type B and C fuses are a little harder for me to remove and check. I have yet to check the cabin fuses.

Does anyone have any other recommendations? Please HELP!! It will be raining this weekend!

Keep looking and check all fuses. If you find them all, there is a good chance you will be good to go.
