1998 Ford Escort WRC

Coming along very well, great job on those decals what a daunting task.

Well it took me about 3 days to remove all the blue decals on the back. Even though I was happy with the results the paint matched so well I wanted to do it right. The photos may seem similar but in person the paint looks way better.

Since I used an enamel I want to wait about 2 weeks before I apply a final spray varnish. I also managed to drop the wing while painting and ruined that paint job so I need to wait a bit longer on that too.

I will be using that time for the details like the windows, aerials, mudflaps, tow hooks, etc. In the home stretch now!

Finished!

Overall very happy with how everything turned out. The spare tire & gas tank were a little high and pushed against the window. And the extra putty inside the rebuilt rear caused some fitment problems. All solved now though.

Very nice. What did you end up using for the blue? I have the TK to do Juha's MC car & this has been the only sticking point to get me started.

Revell #51 Ultramarine Blue. I used the enamel but I think there's a water-based version too. Colour match is perfect and goes on great (first time using Revell).
