Not sure if anyone else has posted pictures of this monster yet, but it would be a good subject for a 1/24th scale release, what do you guys think?

Tasty? I think its ugly and not worthy of a BMW badge. So glad its only a rendering of some crazy artist.

Could hardly agree more- but there have been BMW badges on some pretty ugly cars the last few years. From behind, the current three and especially the new 1 are great looking cars- but as soon as I get past them and look back on them, I have no interest. :headshake I fear that the E46 was the last good looking car BMW made, and no sign yet that things will improve.

Hmmm, I like it, but then again, I like BMW's styling direction a lot these days. While one or two concept car models would be fun to build, I'd rather build models of production cars.

it's a bit lumpy from the front window up to the bonnet ( hood ) if that was a little more refined, i think it would be pretty nice
i like the wheels tho

I have to agree with what has been posted already, although I'm really happy Chris Bangle isn't ruining Beemer's image anymore, this concept does nothing for me. In this day and age do we really need any more two seater supercars?

Replace the "T" with "N"...
Automotive "design" at it's worst. The new 6 series is pretty attractive, but long-term it may seem boring.

I generally like new BMW design. I like their old design too. What can I say? I like bimmers. BUT! This is not a BMW design, nor this will ever be made into a real car, so take it for what its worth. I think this is a much better design, though also only artist's rendering:

:iagree:
Although im not a fan of the new. I would still love to see a e46 kit made.
Wasn't there a company that was in progress of making a resin kit back in the day? Does anyone remember that?

Guess he was inspired? :uhoh::biggrin:
That rendering wouldn't get much love in a critique at a design school. One of my old professors called designs like that "an explosion in a mattress factory".
If you want a model of it, by all means...make it! And...make it better. Please

kids these days simply don't understand the simple concept of purity of line.
all they see are pointless scoops and ducts and wings and bits and they think that is what design is all about.

while we're on BMW concepts, has anyone seen the M5 Concept?

Not sure I like this one.
BMW has a habit of showcasing Concepts that are pretty much the production version and if this is the case, then this new M5 looks a little much like just a bigger M3.

What happened? Chris Bangle, the genius behind recent resurgence of BMW design has left, that's what happened. Now all BMW are back to the "same sausage, different length" concept. I'm not a big fan of some of the Bangle's designs (E65 anybody?) but he sure made BMWs stand out from a crowd. I simply love most Bangle era BMWs. Now we are back to boring.
Speaking of new M5 - its not that bad. BUT! Considering this is the most ferocious sedan on earth - it could have been SOOOOO much better.

Imo Bangle ruined BMW's image, they used to stand out for being the best of everything, he turned the brand into pretentious mass market durge (1 series) hopefully the likes of which we have seen the last of
I wasn't a massive fan of the last M5 in the looks department but I did like the way it moved, this one is much of the same. Am I right in thinking they've ditched the V10 for a turbo'd V8 or something similar?

Chris Bangle was Chief of Design.
Having a 1 series in the company portfolio wasn't his decision.
