My '02 Mitsubishi Galant won't start. Turns over. Plenty of electrical. I had somebody turn the key "on" while I listened for the "whirr" of the fuel pump and heard nothing. Now before I go investing in a fuel pump, are there any other methods to checking if it's a fuel problem? And if it is a fuel problem, are there a fuse and relay associated with the f.p.?

Its a bit of a pain to do, but pull the wiring plug off at the tank and test for 12v at the harness. If you're not getting juice there, check the main relay and fuel pump relay. If I recall correctly, you should get 12v for two or three seconds when you turn the key on to prime the injectors, then you should also get 12v constant while cranking. Have you tested fuel pressure?
If you ARE getting juice there and you have a good ground, its gotta be the pump.

Yes, it sounds like a pain. I'm assuming that in order to get voltage to the plug, key's gotta be on, and that voltage may or may not be continuous. Then there's the locating the proper relay. I'm going to have to find someone online who has an owner's manual.
