Help! i hate historical essays!

i have to write an essay about Louis Riel and why he was a national hero, and i have run out of points. I've talked about how he didn't back down to the government and how he lead the metis and such, and i have started to talk about why he was wrongfully accused, but i dont think i will have enough points.

can anyone think of anything else? probably only canucks know about Riel, but maybe others do as well
