tranny was shifted from drive to reverse at app 20 mph ...........now no reverse. first dumb question....will the shift solinoid keep it from destroying reverse? heard no shudder, grinding or anything. fwd no problems there. second can some one direct me as to how the cage lowers down and the trany slips out the back(after all is d/c of course) thanks Dave

No solenoid will lock out reverse, anyway "cage", do mean subframe?, if you plan on removing this trans laying on your back car jacked up, I would not recommend this method, the subframe must come down after axles are removed, the engine must be supported with a cross strut tower brace, the car must be high enough for the trans to clear the body, this is a tough way to remove this. Could do a a sight or google search for Lumina/Monte Carlo trans removal.
